Filmmaking
NYU Tisch Paris Experimental Production Workshop - Summer 2019
Living in Paris for six weeks, I wrote, directed, and produced my first budgeted, foreign-language film. I also participated in NYU Tisch classes: a Critical Theory class focused on the French New Wave, and a video production course. Check out my final film, Starcrossed!
USC / Universal Studios Motion Picture Producing & Directing - Summer 2018
I continued to refine my voice and storytelling skills as a director, while also beginning to explore the role of producer. While studying at USC School of Cinematic Arts, I produced and directed several short films on the Universal Studios backlot. Check out my final film, Life or Death Debates!
Northwestern University: Cherubs, Film & Video Division, National High School Institute - Summer 2016
Within the Cherubs Video program, I focused primarily on screenwriting. I wrote six short films, and directed two others. I gained a new appreciation for the script as the foundation for powerful cinema. I also experimented a great deal with long-takes, ultimately producing and directing a film composed of one uncut 12-minute shot.
Scout Film Festival – Instagram Takeover, Invited Filmmaker - February 2018
Following the screening of my film Tracks at their previous year's festival, I was selected to be a visiting social media manager for the Scout Film Festival Instagram page. As a "Featured Filmmaker", I gained experience in presenting myself to a broader audience, while holding the responsibility of positively representing a broader entity.
Skills USA Digital Filmmaking competition - 2015 & 2016
Gold medals, 2 consecutive years. A state-wide 24 hour film competition. I wrote, shot, directed, and edited a film over the course of one day with a partner, followed by a pitch of the finished product to a panel of judges. Watch one of the winning films here!
Idyllwild Arts Foundation: “Directing for the Camera” - Summer 2014
My first experience directing a short film, acting for the camera, and working on a soundstage. I immediately fell in love.
